Joshua Hinkel is a contemporary composer of Classical/Epic Christian music.  His goal is to be a "light unto this world" sharing the good news as Jesus commanded. He shares the stories of the Bible through musical artistry and creates vivid images through his musical creation. He wants nothing more than for his music to help bring people to Christ.

 

Currently, his first Album "Emmanuel", a Christian based instrumental album, was released in 2024. Besides composing music for this purpose, he is music has been performed all over the world including the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic and is in constant demand as a composer and arranger. He loves writing music for school, university and professional concert bands and has been an active music designer in the marching arts including Drumcorps International, Bands of America and Winter Guard International.

Alfred Publishing from Van Nuys, California, Marching BandWorks and Marching Monk.

Dr. Hinkel is a member of the Vic Firth Educational Team.

He holds the B.M. in Music Education from the University of South Carolina, the M. Ed. in Secondary Education from Coastal Carolina University and the Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. He resides in Conway, South Carolina and besides being an avid percussionist, he enjoys playing trumpet and violin.
